Speedometer Calibration

Has anyone tried to calibrate their speedometer for bigger tires? The hypertech unit does not work on the diesels so it makes me wonder if the forscan change method will work on our trucks?

I need to do Forscan. What ID did you change? 726-12-01?

Did you have to reset BCM?

See photo I have attached with a screen capture of my personal FORScan spreadsheet. I have not applied this change yet, just researched how to do it a while back in prep for whenever I upsize my tires.

Here is the URL within the screen capture (Ford As-Built Tire Calculator v3.0) -->

That is exactly what I used! Typed in my 295/55r20 and punched in the value it gave me into BCM 726-12-01 and it was dead on with the waze gps on my phone so I am calling her good! I did have to do the PCM and TCM relearn to clear the wrench as well.

@wreedsvt I have used the calculator for you to determine you should change as follows (as a starting point of calibration)...

BdyCM as built
726-12-01
Changed Value = xxxx 0A3B xxxx

See attached screen capture below supporting this...

You sure about this?
I found it listed specifically for the diesel on a bunch of sites.
Matter of fact, I was like 30 seconds away from ordering it on 4wp's site.
Did you try the one for the diesel and it not work?

Hypertech makes a unit for the F150 diesel, but it's $229! --> Hypertech

Why hassle with this $229 Hypertech device when you can do it yourself in under 10 minutes with a Windows laptop, a $29.99 Amazon Prime shipped device (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and FORScan software? Also, then you will be set to do all sorts of additional mods to your truck via FORScan.

Yokev,

Not trying to argue with you or anything, but I also agree with kdjasper. We have no idea how Hypertech changes/and what it changes to accomplish the end goal of calibrating the speedo.

We do know however Forscan is writing directly to the BCM, like Ford intended and same as Ford IDS to make the change.

If it were me, save yourself the hassle and just use something that is trusted and works, Forscan.
