Shook's 2018 F150 Platinum Deleted Build Thread

I want to create this thread as a spot to post my experience with my deleted F150. I will update on just about everything to do with the tunes/deletes and give advice along the way.

To start off, I purchased a 2018 Platinum a few weeks ago, it currently has 1,600 miles on it. I have only done some ForScan mods so far.

On 7/10/2019, I dropped my truck off at CDT here in Raleigh, NC to have the following installed:

EZLynk with PPEI Tunes
GDP EGR Upgrade Kit
S&B Intake
3.5" Turbo back Exhaust, no muffler (C6294P)
Bilstein 5100's
Toyo RTs 285/60r20

And this is where the story begins.... Follow along!

7/12/2019 Update:

I was supposed to get the truck back today... Everything is installed but for some reason the truck will not accept the tunes. So currently the truck will not crank. CDT does not know if it is on PPEI's end or EZLynks end. My assumption is PPEI but we will hopefully find out on Monday 7/15/2019.

So far, not how I wanted this to go, but I know it will be fixed!

Welcome to the tuning club. Its PPEI end, nothing to do with EzLynk. I've had the no crank a few times on these 3.0l after tune. Is the dash lighting up like a Christmas tree? Typically its only when using Emiss On tuning. I would check with CDT that they are trying to install an Emiss Off tune. Those install much easier. There has also been some issues with Ez and tuning the TCM in these trucks. ECM is cake, but the TCM not so much and can cause a no crank. PPEI will fix it though. Most likely going to publish an INSTALL FIRST file, then INSTALL SECOND. So with that being said if PPEI offers a ECM only tune in the ECM profile list, install that and return TCM back to stock as truck will most likely crank.
I have also seen where tune needs to be installed TWICE, may ask them to try that also.

Hopefully they left DPF on until they confirmed tune worked and truck cranked.

Also no muffler is going to resonate like CRAZY in these trucks. Be sure to keep that stock muffler, everything Pre the muffler is garbage though!

Well, at least I am not the only one, I just thought PPEI would have this figured out by now. CDT had this issue on the 1st 3.0L they deleted but his took the second time they tried to upload the tunes. Mine didnt... I am going to forward your info to them, I appreciate the knowledge. Not sure on the DPF, I would assume it was gone due to the new exhuast?! This is a new world to me, so hopefully we all can learn something.

What I meant it typically you remove the DPF AFTER you confirm tune took on truck. At least this way you could have had it for the weekend.

Let us know when you get it figured out! Once you get ahold of PPEI I am sure they will fix it in minutes.

When you get the Ezlynk, will you post pictures of the PPEI ECU profiles available? I would like to see what they offer.

Ok so here is the update,

CDT did not get the truck going today, I stopped by after work to see what was going on.

Pretty much there is a blame game going on. PPEI says its EZLynk... EZLynk says they have seen this numerous times and PPEI has a TCM+ECM combo tune that has worked every single time. Called PPEI back (after being in the Q for 30 min) and they say they have no such file. He said he was going to raise it to Korys level and call back, but we never heard back and their phones cut off at 4:45PM.

PPEI was gracious enough to say "We will refund the customer money if thats what he wants" .. No I want you to stand behind your products and make my truck right. PPEI is losing all respect in my book, but that beside the fact.

So now I have a paperweight truck and I am looking for ideas.

Is there any other tuning company that has files for a NO emissions present truck?
