2018 F150 Platinum

Good day. I just joined the forum a week ago… as I just purchased an 18 Platinum with the 3.0 PS. it already has 100K on it and I’m getting a delete /tune and exhaust in 2 weeks when parts come in.

So I have a series of questions… feel free to tell me what you have and why you chose what you did.

So has anyone done a tune/delete and if so, what’s your experience ? What type of tune? My guy wants to just flash it with a tune with no controller but I’ll have unlimited support to make changes.

Anyone do a level lift? 2 or 2.5 inch and why? And did you do 33, 34, 35 inch tires?
Lastly… any one do a grill guard vs a grill guard with bumper? I’m considering the guard with bumper. It only weighs 200lbs or less. Not too worried about weight and MPG… I want the protection. I do 500 miles a day at all hours and deer are bad in the Midwest.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

@sKYkING6565 - let me be the first to welcome you here to the forums. I am not tuned/deleted and have no short term plans to tune/delete, but if I did decide to, the only route I would trust is GDE (Green Diesel Engineering)

There are threads out in the forums regarding members who have tuned/deleted and a few of these have not gone well due to lack of support and unknowns:
I'd be asking your "guy" for performance details and what happens if/when things "go south" post-install so you don't end up with a 5000 lb stinky paper-weight...

GDE has been working more than 2 years to come up with both an engine and transmission tune for our trucks, after honing-their-craft on the Dodge EcoDiesels. Your timing is impeccable as GDE just posted this week that their long-awaited F150 Diesel tune is finally available: Green Diesel Engineering! which also includes performance charts (only tune player I have seen show the goods)

No plans to lift, so I let other members who are more knowledgeable handle that question.

For grill guards, make sure to get something that does not interfere with the holes in the bumper on either side of the license plate holder that feed fresh air to the turbo intercooler and radiator, as you may encounter cooling/limp mode issues experienced by our brethren "down under" with F-150 Diesel Engine and Bullbar interference

Good luck with your tune/delete and please feedback how you make out.

Welcome again to our forums!

Thanks… I appreciate the response. Depending on where you live… it’s hard to find anyone to do the tune/delete these days… at least that’s been my experience.

I did a Fox 2.0 leveling kit on my truck and was able to fit LT285/60R20 Toyo AT3s (33.5 diameter) under it with no issue. Stage 3 Motorsports is who I have used for my last 3 trucks, thier prices are really good and so is their customer service.
