2019 F150 Lariat Chirping

Hey everyone new to the forum. I've had my truck since it was new in July of 2019. Recently hit 48k miles and it is now "chirping" when you shut the truck off. It will also happen when you enter it after its been shut off and sitting. I have never noticed this before and not sure if anyone else has run into this. Seems like it will make the noise 2-3 times then stop. I asked the dealer to look into it when it went in for a recall this week and got the typical "we didn't hear anything."

Pretty sure all you're hearing is the truck purging the lines of DEF. It does it a few seconds after you shut the truck off to clear the lines in case it freezes. It will also do it if you just have the aux power on as that will prime the lines. Its kind of like a suctioning noise, 2-3 times as you said.

The chirp I hear comes from the internal sound system, the same beep you hear when using the touchscreen. Definitely not an external sound.

Oh I see... did you leave your lights on? haha. If you have forscan you can maybe try resetting the APIM module of something. No messages anywhere?
@Marc21 - you mean something like this?

(96) 2015 F-150 chirping noise - YouTube

All depends on what your definition of a "chirp" is -- this one reminds me of a simulated European police siren...

You can posts videos here -- would it be possible for you to record a video with your phone of the sound you are describing so that the rest of us know exactly what chirping noise you are hearing, as I initially thought the same thing that @Laytunes brought up...

Video (w/sound) is also an excellent way to combat your dealership's "We don't hear anything..." lame excuse for not even attempting to diagnose...

Guessing this is a generic F150 issue and not specific the the F150 PSDs (PowerStroke Diesels) so we can lean on the much larger F150 forums for help.

Thanks in advance.

BTW - welcome to the forums, as I see this is your first post, so welcome aboard!

According to my 2018 F150 Owners manual, the following is the list of audible warning alarms:

AUDIBLE WARNINGS AND INDICATORS
  • Airbag Secondary Warning
    • Sounds if there is a malfunction with the safety belt warning lamp and there is a fault in the supplemental restraints system.
  • Beltminder
    • Warning Sounds when a seatbelt is unfastened in an occupied seat and your vehicle is moving.
  • Door Ajar
    • Warning Sounds when any door is not completely closed and your vehicle speed exceeds 3 mph (5 km/h).
  • Headlamps On
    • Warning Sounds when you remove the key from the ignition and open the driver's door and you have left the headlamps or parking lamps on.
  • Key in Ignition
    • Warning Sounds when you open the driver's door and you have left the key in the ignition.
  • Keyless Warning Alert (If Equipped)
    • Sounds the horn twice when you exit your vehicle with the intelligent access key, after the last door is closed and your keyless vehicle is in RUN, indicating your vehicle is still on.
  • Rear Park Aid Warning
    • A detection warning sounds when obstacles are within a certain range of the bumper area. The system turns on automatically whenever you switch the ignition on.
  • Parking Brake On Warning
    • Sounds when you have left the parking brake on and drive your vehicle.
    • If the warning chime remains on after you have released the parking brake, have the system checked by your authorized dealer immediately.
  • Service AdvanceTrac
    • Warning Sounds when there is a malfunction with the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) or Rollover Stability Control (RSC) system.
Most of the Google searches I did revolved around burnt-out warning indicator lamps in the dash, where the audible alarm is the backup if the visual indicator is not working; e.g. Parking Brake set or Air Bag System malfunction.

The number of chimes and type of chime should help us track down what your issue is, which is why I asked for a video of what you are encountering.

If you have any of these audible warnings going off, an OBD code may be thrown and can be read using a OBDii code reader (something like my Edge Insight CTS3 monitor or a diagnostic tool) or via FORScan.
