Intercepted my dealer's first F150 Diesel order for their dealership in Jan 2018 and got them to alter the order to replace my 2015 F150 Platinum.

It will be 6 months this week since dealer order and still nothing on my order showing in COTUS...

Been dealing with GM of the dealership directly since ordered and been he is getting the run around from his Ford Factory rep.

Starting to get impatient with the lack of a VIN in COTUS.

Also not happy about incentives being pulled for F150 diesel orders that I saw in another thread => Just an F150 with a different engine option

Anyone else in the same boat?

I received a VIN back in June and the last 2 delivery date estimations were wrong and my dealer can’t locate my vehicle anymore.

I’m hoping it wasn’t damaged and someone is buying time to fix the vehicle. Starting to be pessimistic.

All I’m looking for is a accurate ETA. Ford is unable to manage expectations.

Good luck and hang in there. This has been the worse car purchase process for me.

Same thing exactly. Dealer can't find it, I can't find it, and I don't think Ford can find it! Ordered in March of this year.
Pulling all of the incentives is irritating also to me. Can I say 1500 eco diesel?

Its a real shame that Ford is having so much difficult getting this model built and delivered. I know there have already been quite a few members on here who have cancelled their pre orders as a result of constant delays. I wonder if they are having issues meeting new EPA standards in regards to emissions and fuel economy.

Talked to the dealership GM on Monday while I was there getting an oil change on my 2015 F150 Platinum.

He said he talked to the Factory rep last Friday and she said I should have a VIN by the end of this week.

Low and behold I checked this morning and I finally have a VIN assigned for my order place 02/05/2018.

As I mentioned before, I commandeered my dealership's first F150 Diesel order, and the GM explained multiple times that since this was a customer special order (my name is on the order) that it would get priority in the build process above any F150 Diesels he ordered for the dealership.

Monday's discussion was on the showroom floor standing next to a 2018 Black Platinum F150 Diesel.
I checked their inventory and they also had a 2018 King Ranch F150 Diesel somewhere on the lot.

So much for priority for having the first dealership order and priority in the build queue...

Based of FFGregory's other post and now mine, it sounds like they are finally getting their act together

Sounds like the dealership dropped the ball

Congrats on finally getting your VIN number....I do have to say for lack of better wording that you got hosed on this preferential treatment for new orders...of course ford prioritizes truck orders with names attached...I have a feeling that the dealership somehow mishandled the original order which is causing you to wait longer for your vehicle...GMs are always full of @%$# when it comes to being straight forward with customers..although I do enjoy listening to their snake oil sales pitch..hopefully they will treat you right throughout the rest of the process....

Checked COTUS today and I now have a Estimated Delivery Date:

2018 F-150 Platinum
Ordered On: 02/05/2018
Order Number: 5xxx
VIN: 1FTFW1E12JFE25xxx
Estimated Delivery: 10/07/2018

For those of you who have custom ordered, how accurate is this Delivery Date in COTUS?

Based on the Ordered On and Estimated Delivery dates, this whole process was greater than 8 months...

FYI - I custom ordered my 2015 F150 Platinum & received my vehicle in 88 days (and this was the first year for aluminum) where Ford's commitment for Factory Orders in 90 days.

Arrived on time

My F150 actually arrived at the dealer 1 day before scheduled delivery...will be picking up today....total order from start to finish is as follows....

2018 F-150 LARIAT
Ordered On: 02/26/2018
Order Number: 7003
VIN: 1FTFW1E18JFDXXXXX
Delivered on: 08/15/2018

Just under 6 months from start to finish....now the fun begins with finding out if the dealership is going to honor the price they gave me when I ordered the truck....I have a feeling they priced in rebates that don't exist now on the diesel...will keep the board posted.....

Just checked COTUS this morning and was surprised to find they cut 10 days off my target estimated delivery date

2018 F-150 Platinum
Ordered On: 02/05/2018
Order Number: 5xxx
VIN: 1FTFW1E12JFE25xxx
Estimated Delivery: 09/27/2018

Only 31 days left now -> Guess I need to go discuss process with the GM, as I am getting X-Plan pricing thru my employer but was hoping for incentives.
Without the incentives, the PowerStroke Diesel engine option is more of $4000-$5000 upcharge for what is basically the same truck except the engine.
@FordF150DieselOrdered & @Stonedragon2002 - Glad to hear your dealers honored your prior pricing agreements.

Ford is luck so far there hasn't been a strong competitor, even with brands like RAM and Nissan that have come to market with their own. Although I have seen a lot of EcoDiesels right after release. But overall Ford gets more attention than RAM.

Impressive Milage

After driving my new F150 diesel for a week...out of the gate I am averaging 25.5 highway...pulling an aluminum car hauler rated for 10,000lbs with a four wheeler, seeder, and cultipacker I averaged 18.5 mpg on the highway...thats 3 mpg better than I was getting with my 2012 F150 3.5 liter ecoboost not pulling anything....

only problem so far is that my lighted gear indicator in the dash has stopped working....uggg hate to have to take it back to the dealer already with less than 500 miles on it....will wait it out to see if anything else goes wrong in order to make it worth the trip to the dealer to have it fixed....

Other than that so far the truck has exceeded all my expectations....

Hey FordF150Dieselordered,

Try pressing the + button on the right side Column gear shifter. You might also have to physically move the shifter also. That should bring the lighted gear indicator back.
Had the same thing happen on my 2014 F150.

Proof of no incentives for 2018 F150 Diesels

I guess the lack of incentives for the 2018 F150 Diesels are official now => Just got this offer for $2000 off F150 and SuperDuty trucks in the FordPass iPhone app

Check the fine print that I highlighted in offer:
