I am averaging about 2500 miles between oil changes when the messages comes on. My service manager told me the other day to go to 5k miles between changes. looking for a way to either delete it or modify for extended life. If anyone has deleted it with forscan can you please let me know.

Are you doing a lot of short hauls with heavy loads?

I haven’t had mine need an oil change with that low of mileage. But short hauls really reduces my oil life. My daily drive is every other week I do about 3 miles to and from. The other week 12 miles to and from. Average oil change is around 3,500 miles. When I did a cross country trip hauling a camper, I got very close to the mythical 10,000 mile oil change advertised by Ford. I haven’t done any long hauls empty. But if I did, 10,000 should be doable. I use Rotela t-6 oil for diesels and mann oil filters. You don’t say what oil and filter your using. So I am unable to say for sure. But if you’re using good oil and filters you should probably be getting around 3,500 or better. And if that’s the case I would say you have a problem with the oil sensor system. Assuming you are resetting to 100% at the change.

I am having all my oil changes at Ford so I assume they are using the Motorcraft oil that is called out. I know its not cheap but they fill the DEF every time, rotate the tires and top fluids. The real reason I use them is it puts them on the hook for any issues like the oil filter problem that can show up.

When I have done my own oil changes I have used Rotela I believe T4 which has the ford specs for the 3.0L. There are two different versions so you need to make sure you choose the correct version.

I think the next time I will send a sample in to see how it looks.

Has anyone done the green diesel tune. I am seriously considering trying it
