Hi, I am a crop consultant from ND and am new to this forum. I currently have a 2010 F150 for a work pickup that I use to haul my atv in the back during the summer months, pull my skid steer and fish house also. I’m intrigued by the 3.0 and am dealing on a 2019 XLT SuperCrew with the 6.5’ box, 3.55 gears, and trailer tow package. It has 32k miles on it. The dealership that has it is currently doing some sort of warranty work to it as we speak. The salesman mentioned a turbo pipe, but didn’t know for sure. I plan to call the service manager today and get more details. I plan to ask them about the EGR recalls, but I assume they should be done since it is a Lincoln dealer and I would imagine they wouldn’t be able to sell it if they weren’t done. Is there anything else I need to make sure is updated/fixed before I commit to it?

Thanks

@mcarlo - welcome here to the forums!

Ask the selling dealer for VIN-specific OASIS report for the vehicle you are looking at -- this will show any outstanding recalls and any warranty work that was performed on the vehicle. This will answer your questions on the EGR By-Pass valve recalls (18E02 and 20E04) but you are correct that they should not be selling you the truck (Stop-sale order in place) if these recalls have not been performed, though not sure Lincoln sells any diesels, so I'd be worried who exactly did the recalls if they don't have a diesel technician on staff.

Get the 18E02 and 20E04 recalls answered via OASIS report before proceeding... I would not trust their word that either were done, so get the OASIS report which is the service bible for your VIN.

Turbo pipe recall work might be this: Oil Leak around Turbo

Please post back here with what the Service Manager has to say....

If you do go forward with the purchase, I think you will find the 2019 F150 PSD a huge upgrade over your 2010 F150 (I also owned a 2010 F150 F150 Platinum) and based on your needs, I think you be very happy with the 3.0L PSD.

Took delivery today. Set up better than I expected. It has a leveling kit and air bags in it. So far so good!

I had been searching for a long box, XLT package and 3.55 gears. I haul an atv in the back for work, so need the long box. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it has the air bags and leveling kit. One of the first upgrades I plan to do is get a new set of LT275/70R18 AT Load Range E tires. It currently has some standard load 275/65R18 Goodyear winter tires on it that are about 40-50% tread. I also am planning to do some FORScan changes tomorrow (turn off the auto start/stop, DPF % Full, etc). Drove it 50 miles home today into a 20+ mph head wind and the fuel economy on the dash said I was getting 20-21 mpg at 70 mph. I slowed down to 60 for a couple miles to see how it would do and it was 28-29 mpg. Will be fun to see how it does hauling the atv around in the back. My old 2010 5.4 averaged around 12-13 mpg doing that.
