Hi All,
A couple weeks ago truck got def fault and warned me of limp mode in 80 km's.
Got it to dealer and they gave it back after a couple days saying the replaced a electrical connector..
Half hour down the road and def fault came back. So back to dealer.
Now they said they did a test on every wire and sensor and determined that the PCM is at fault. They ordered a new one, said it will be a week to come in...

Anyone hear of a faulty PCM yet???

Please keep us updated on how this turns out. Stranger things have happened, but I will be amazed if this turns out to be a faulty PCM. Nowhere do I see any mention of attempts to replace the sensor (part of the tank assembly) itself, which I find curious.

The system is the same at that on a later model F-350. I have read of one case where the heater "belts" end up obstructing the ultrasonic quality/level sensor. Also, the PID on level is extremely slow and can take many kilometers to reset.

I had a DEF fault when I was in Albuquerque a few years ago. 600 miles from home and the dealership was a zoo on a Saturday no less. My issue was that I let it get down to 1/4 or less. The roads in Albuq are kind of rough and I think my tank sloshed and dry heaved when it was trying to squirt. The tech asked if I wanted to erase the error. I said YES! Filled it up and it never came back. Don’t know if this helps. There’s some really good Ford 3.0 guys on this forum that can hopefully point you in the right direction.
