We haven’t heard much about the new Diesel F-150 recently so here’s a recap of everything we know about the 2018 F-150 refresh so far, courtesy of AutoBlog.

A few design changes.

From what we can see in the above spy shot, a majority of the SuperCab mule remains unchanged including the roofline and side doors but, the front facia and half of the bed may be getting moderate design updates. Most likely, those headlights and taillights won’t remain untouched in the facelift.

2017 model year gets a powertrain upgrade.

That 2017 f-150 will be sporting a newly upgraded 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that’s expected to produce 370 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. All that power is sent to the wheels via a new 10-speed automatic transmission that Ford developed in partnership with General Motors.

Earlier design changes.

A white mule was spotted in June this year roaming around Dearborn, Michigan. Again, the front facia and rear of the truck is under camouflage. We really can’t tell what’s under there but, we do know that Ford is adding a Raptor model for 2017.

Diesel powertrain is coming.

Spy shots have confirmed a diesel powertrain in the future and we can expect to see a 3.0 litre displacement. Maybe it’ll be a 3.0-liter V-6 turbo-diesel sitting under the hood. There’s also rumors of a 3.5-liter-based V-6 hybrid powertrain in the future.

That’s it for now, but maybe we’ll hear more from Ford at the Paris Motor Show next month.
