I’m picking up my new 2019 f-150 Lariat Diesel tomorrow. I was damaged during shipping but repaired. The delay had been over a month. I’m asking ford to extend my warranty before I accept the truck. Has anyone had any experience like this and received a courtesy extension?

@RocknRescue - don't have any experiencing bartering for an extension, but I think it is important to know exactly what warranties you already do have, as there has been some confusion especially regarding the engine warranty:

  • 3yr/36K "Bumper-to-Bumper" Warranty
  • 5yr/60K Safety Restraint Warranty
  • 5yr/60K Powertrain Warranty
  • 5yr/100k PowerStroke Diesel Engine Warranty
You can review the Powerstroke Warranty thread for a thorough discussion on the last bullet -- just don't let them try to give you an extension to the Engine warranty that you already have by default. Ask them for a print-out of your OASIS report for your VIN and review all of your "base" warranties in the middle of the page before getting into any discussions.

Which warranty are you looking to get extended?

Maybe you should try to hit-them-where-it-hurts and have them cough up some free oil change services...

Can I ask/did they tell you what was damaged during transit?

I’m looking for them to match the bumper to bumper with the powertrain warranty. They tirst told me it was delayed for recall, then it changed to QC hold. I finally went to the dealer in person and went straight to the manager. He pulled up the truck on the computer right in front of me and it showed “Transportation Damage” no details. Now they are saying it was just a scratch. I’m willing to take delivery, but throw me something for the damage and delay. And I don’t want oil changes, I do it myself.

@RocknRescue - If I were dropping north of $60K for a brand-new vehicle, I'd want to know exactly what the damage was and how they fixed it, but that is me...

Please let us know how you make out on extending the bumper-to-bumper warranty, as I'm sure other prospective buyers in your situation would want to know this type of info.
