Extended warranty?

Question for you guys? I'm finishing up the paperwork on it today and the dealership is trying to sell me an extended bumper to bumper warranty for about $2900 with a $100 deductible. I have always stayed away from extended warranties in the past as I have thought they are mainly sales schemes to get more of my money. After reading some of the posts here about the transmission and also some of the turbo oil leak issues (this pickup just had the turbo replaced under warranty at 32,000 miles), it is making me re-think this. What do you guys think about extended warranties?

@mcarlo86 - I have both Extended Warranty and Service/Maintenance ESPs thru Ford on my 2018 F150 PowerStroke Diesel (PSD)

I got a extended plan 10yr/100k bumper to bumper for 2200$ 100 deductible its well worth it
I think we need to compare apples to apples. Ford’s longest new vehicle warranty is 8 years, inclusive of the 3 yr initial warranty. A 10 year warranty via Ford is not available unless it’s a CPO, in which case you can go up to 11 years. If you got a 10 year on a new vehicle, then it’s not a Ford warranty but rather from a 3rd party.

I did based on what it costs to replace or fix the electronics and motor and trans well worth it for the money
Hey getrdun Can you elaborate on the 10 or 11 year extended warranty if it is a CPO vehicle? I am looking at a 2018 and and can only find an 8 year term for an ESP contract. Since the used baby powerstrokes I am looking at are already 3 years old trying to max out the extended warranty year length as I only put 6-7000 miles on per year. Thanks for any info.
Not all ESP website sellers list it but it’s available at some. Call Ziegler or Flood to see if they offer as they tend to be cheaper when you use a code. Basically you can extend to 11 years and/or 140k miles. Lombard does show it on their site.

Good luck!
Thanks for the info. I did call Lombard ford and confirmed the 11 year warranty is available if it is a CPO vehicle already. Does anyone know if a Ford dealer will CPO a vehicle that is not being sold from them? The truck I am looking at is not at a Ford dealer so I can only get the 8 year ESP which is only 5 years of extended warranty as its already 3 years old. Was trying to find a Ford dealer that would CPO it so I can get the longer ESP warranty. Anyone know if I can pay ford to do the CPO if they do not own it?
