EZ Lynk for Monitoring - Issues

6023 Views 11 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  wreedsvt
I hooked up an EZ Lynk Auto agent 2 to my truck tonight. I don’t have tunes on it (and don’t plan to void my warranty) but My scangauge died out and I want a way to monitor my EGTs. So, I figured getting an ez Lynk now would work and down the road let me tune the truck if I choose to do so.

My issue is not all of the gauges are populating correctly. My engine oil temp, trans temp, and others are outputting 32F or zero, with no changes under driving. The cluster engine oil and trans oil temps work fine and they worked in my scan gauge. The EGTs update on the ez Lynk correctly. Does anyone have any experience with EZ Lynk with regards to a vehicle monitor? Any ideas?

@Bullseye - not sure I can help, as I am using ForScan Lite & ODB Link MX+ for monitoring. @wreedsvt is the one who has been recommending EZ Lynk as another monitoring platform, so I am sure he will help you out, as he is our resident EZ Lynk expert...

BTW - I took care of deleting the double post. F150 Diesel Forums website has been very, very slow today, so double post is understandable...

Is the firmware of the unit updated? It is a AutoAgent 1 or 2? I have a 2 with latest firmware and my gauges all work correctly.

I see now you have a Auto Agent 2. I would make sure the firmware is updated, as this is such a new truck it needs the latest and greatest to work correctly.
I am running Firmware - 10.10.92 and App Version 1.25.3.149
Hey thanks for your help. It is an auto agent 2. The first time I plugged it in it said it wanted to update but I did not do it, and I haven’t been able to figure out how to push the update to the auto agent again. I need to give EZ Lynk a call and ask them but I have not had the chance.

I also found it interesting that it found 3 EGT sensors where my scangauge I was able to get 4 to populate. The 4th one seems to be missing, for whatever reason. Do you know how to get the device to push for a firmware update? I cannot find it in settings

I am not near my truck to get the firmware version and my tablet is in the truck with the app. I know the app is up to date as I just installed that a few days ago.
Open EzLynk click the menu, then settings, then about. Firmware version and ability to update will be right there.

Oh awesome. I will give it a look in the morning, push the update and give it a shot. I was looking in my profile settings trying to find something there but didn’t have a ton of time to keep digging.

It’s on an android tablet if that makes any difference (shouldn’t).

What tiles are you running for monitoring? Just curious

I leave it on something like this. Just like to watch EGTs and Soot Load right now.

The latest one I changed Throttle Pos to Trans Temp as I watch boost on the factory cluster.

App version is 1.16.262 (Android)
Firmware is 10.10.92

Trans temp and engine oil temp are two that are not reading for me. I only know because on my gauge cluster I have those and they read fine. It was updated afterall, I went where you said to and tried to push an update but it is up to date With yours so that isn’t it.

I wonder if I should unhook it and try hooking up again?

Really it isn’t a huge deal but if the capability is there I’d like to know what the true value is, ya know?
Yes unplug and let the device sit for 30 seconds and try again. My next thing to tell you to try would be a Apple device if you have one, even a older one.
Happy to report that I got it working. The tablet I have in the truck for use as a dedicated display is WiFi only. I hooked into my phone which is cell data and got into the WiFi of the auto agent and it did prompt for an update so I did it, and it’s working great now. Not only that but I have more things to monitor which is always a huge plus.

I want to try the data logging but I don’t know much about any of this yet as I am still learning. I want to check out the mass airflow and intake air temps for awhile to see what the averages look like, and then sink in the cold air intake I have. Also want to do the same for a DPF back exhaust.. which won’t do a whole lot but I am curious to see what the real world changes end up being.

Thank you both for your help
Glad you got it working!
