Hello
is anyone using forscan to mod their truck? What did you change? How is it working for you? Thanks for any and all input.

Here is a list of the changes I see people do most. You will need a OBDLink MX and a Windows PC to run the software. Once you do it a couple times, its actually very simple.

Thank you for asking the question. I just bought the link and look forward to learning to use it.

Thanks for the help, wreedsvt the spread sheets are very helpful. I bought the wifi version obd and a very cheap laptop and brake controller on amazon. Originally just to activate the modules for the integrated trailer brake controller/towing modules. (still cheaper than the dealer wanted) I did successfully do that following a youtube video. I have a few other mods in mind and the spreadsheets are going to be a great help.

I can help with any questions, just let me know.
Download the latest version from Forscan website.
A question out of curiosity...

Some background first, a friend used the VW equivalent of FORscan on my Jetta, so I could open and close the windows remotely with the key fob. This feature was noted in the owner's manual as a convienence feature, but only on upper trims. I had the base Jetta at the time, and I wasn't able to set that feature myself.

My question is, do higher level trims of F150s have the ability to customize certain "convienence" features without FORscan, or do all trims require FORscan for these "features?"

Anyone near Northwest Ohio or Northeast Indiana? I am interested in some FORSCAN upgrades and want someone with some experience to show me the ins and outs so to speak. I am a self admitted novice when it comes to computer stuff and fear I would do more harm than good if I tried myself without someone's guidance...:)
@Andy - I've done remote setup & training over Facetime with @justlucky if you can't find anyone local to help. I only ask that you use/purchase the hardware documented in the H/W Requirements section in my START HERE: New FORScan user education thread, as I have verified that both of those OBDLink adapters work with the latest FORScan software on a Windows 10 laptop.

@justlucky will confirm that even an old dog can learn new tricks!

PM me if you are interested in remote setup & training

Thanks for the Forscan info, I'm trying to change my PowerPoint timeout, the link to the calculator appears to be broken. "DeltaNu1142's powerpoint timeout calculator here **" anyone have a link that works? Thanks!
Here is a video that may be what you want, if not let me know. Thanks!

Thanks but I'm looking for the calculator that converts seconds to hex, there is a link to it in the Forscan spreadsheet but it's broken. Looking to set my PowerPoint timeout to 4 hours.

Still can't find the spreadsheet calculator but here is something on setting the timeout to 4 hours.

Power Point Timeout 4 HoursBCM726-39-01xxxx x1xx xxxx**** xxxx xxxxReplace the **** with 3870. Allows power points to remain powered for 4 hours after the vehicle is shut down. After four hours the power points will timeout and stop supplying voltage to plugged in devices. This feature has had multiple confirmations but also failed on other trucks. Differences are unknown.

Copy and paste made this hard to decipher so if this seems helpful go to this link for the original posting.
