Turns out the reason my truck has missed two delivery dates and now is back at Ford via CSX is due to hail damage during transportation. I figured these were covered containers... I guess not.

The COTUS status is now awaiting shipment and Ford needs to repair the damage.

If I am lucky, I am looking at 4 to 5 weeks. What do you gals/guys think I should do? Wait it out or cancel the order? We should be getting 2019 vehicles at this point.

On top of that, who wants to pay MSRP for a repaired vehicle? Feedback is welcome.

They certainly aren't making it easy for you to wait around. Did they tell you the extent of the damages that were sustained? If anything I would do some negotiating with your dealer, because I agree there should be some changes to your pricing now that the vehicle isn't in brand new condition.

Dealer doesn’t know the extend of the damage if any. Ford said the “entire consignment has been pulled to Kansas”.

Dealer said they will work out a deal for my patience and that if the car isn’t to my liking or theirs they will work with me.

Issue that I have... I need a 6 seater (5kids) and 6.5 bed. They found one on the east coast only.

Yeah I would imagine that availability is going to be the biggest obstacle to locating a replacement, should you go that route. Guess you'll have a better idea once you're able to see it in person. Bet they are regretting not spending the extra money on having them shipped securely.

These odd losses mean nothing much to their bottom line, only real loss is to the person who bought it that now has to wait even longer.
When dealing with products like this that are so vulnerable to damage i'm amazed that there's not more common damage.

Cancelling my order. No status change and no insight on the hail damage. 2019 are coming out soon. Not worth the wait anymore.

Ford doesn’t seem to care about the individual customer. Getting a GMC Denali.

It was a pleasure collaborating with all of you. Best wishes.

My original vehicle was no where to be found and as I went to get my refund; my dealer got a 2018 F150 Diesel Platinum.

Just picked this up tonight. Got some discount for the long wait.

Was it worth it? Yes

I was thinking to buy a Denali Sierra 1500 with the ultimate package. The F150 drives significantly better and the technology is superior.

@binary - Congrats on the F150 Diesel Platinum! I'm now 30 days out from finally getting mine...

I have been watching your dilemma with interest and glad to see that your dealer took care of you for everything that you went through.

The 3.5L Eco sounded like a massey fergueson tractor one morning. I guess I got the infamous cold knock problem. Dealer said it would be a week to look at it, I always wanted a diesel so I traded it in.

Yeah, I never have been a fan of the 3.5 liter ecoboost motor even in high boost applications. That is no good that the truck rattled like that and many Gen2 owners have had bad problems with them.

Just my experience, but I came out of a 18 Sierra SLT Ultimate package with moonroof, basically a Denali minus grille and bumper color.
The Sierra is nice, but the ride and handling on the F150 Platinum is superior, as is massaging seats, BLIS, Start Stoo Cruise, Lane keep assist. Gosh could go on and on.

Have always been a Ford man myself, how many old Ford Broncos and Trucks do you still see on the road?

Guess Chevy and Dodge are nice as well but they just never really appealed to me and I was a stone throw away from being a new Power Wagon owner until I saw their weird bed suspension setup. Just never have been a fan when it comes to trucks Ford is was and will the be the KING.

Has anyone had to have body work done yet. I had a 12" scratch with a 1/4" indentation on drivers door. The body shop had to put a new skin on the door for a total of 1942.00. Because it is aluminum they couldn't straighten it like they could if it was steel door.
