thought this would be the logical first post, Hello..

I just bought myself a fully loaded 2018 F150 Lariat Sport in Oxford White, it was left sitting on the lot since last year so i got it for 26k off MSRP which was ~81K CAD

It has every available option on the Lariat.. i pick it up this Thursday.

I generally keep my vehicles for quite some time and do all the maintenance and modifications myself.

Nice! I'm also in Calgary and I picked one up back in march for around 19K off.. I have about 10,000 KM on it so far and it has been great. I stepped down from an F350 and have been enjoying spending half of what I used to spend on fuel. The white is nice tho, especially with the white bumper. Cheers.

i couldn't find anything discounted locally so i had to buy up in Fort Sask..

Did you get a Platinum, KR or Lariat ? i was going to wait till Oct and grab a F350 on heavy discount when the 2020's come out with the new motor and 10spd.. but i just couldn't justify such a big truck when i already have a 4x4 for the toys.. i suspect i will like the higher MPG and livability of the F150, i obviously didn't choose it for outright power..

i like the lazy diesel power band of my 1998 TD42 Nissan Patrol Mechanical 12v I6 Turbo Diesel it is kinda like a 12v Cummins but only 4.2L and IDI, they used them in forklifts, dumps and bus's all over the world for the last 50years. It is the definition of BulletProof and the vehicle regularly gets mid 20's MPG. These motors regularly last for 450 -> 500,000 miles before needing a rebuild.. mine is from Japan so it has low kilometeres and is RHD its such a nice vehicle to adventure with.. but its very basic with no AC, stability control or crash structure so lifted on 35's its just not that safe for winter hwy work.. It hates starting in the winter, sounds like a tractor but it always starts even in -30C rust is killing me when i drive it in the winter as well, gotta get under it and paint the chassis every two years (I like to maintain my vehicles very well )

I wouldn't have bought a new truck if i didn't get the big discount but i was yearning for something modern with all the bells and whistles.. i originally wanted the Platinum, not sure why.. suppose its just because it was a high trim level. Couldn't get anyone to move more than 19k and they were demo trucks with 8-10k on the clocks.. starting at 85k it took me to 64 thousand something.. Where this Oxford White was spec'd out at 80.5k and i negotiated a 26k discount to get me to 54 thousand.. this i feed is a **** of a deal..

Mine's a lariat with the 502A package, pretty well loaded all around. List price was around 76 and I paid 57... but your deal is honestly the best one I've seen and if I didn't already have one I would have been all over that! So congratulations! I think you made the right choice, as I bought a 2017 F350 with the 6.2 on what I thought was a great deal, but it turned out to be the wrong truck for us. The fuel economy was brutal (18 l/100km) and the ride was terrible... my wife complained almost every time we were in it. It was a cool truck, but it was bigger than we needed and I regretted buying it about 6 months in... Not a fun daily driver, I don't know how all these Albertans do it haha! I just took it on a 3000 km trip though the mountains out to vancouver island and back stateside, and the truck performed admirably. It was really confident pulling up the hills with the low end torque, super smooth, and just felt great all around; but the best part was the 9.0 l/100km average. Calgary to Kamloops was 8.0 l/100 km which blew me away in a truck. Even had a few campers come up and ask me about it, and the boarder agent asked more questions about my truck than what we were actually doing down there haha. They're almost a best kept secret kinda truck, get em when the gettin's good.

Wow she is a beauty, love the two tone..

Just got mine home, very happy so far, averaged 8.5L/100 on the dash on the way home 280 kilometers but its pretty darn flat here

Anyone know who is the preferred ford dealer in Calgary - service wise ?

Here is mine! Two tone.
This is the two tone i had my heart set on, but unfortunately around these parts its a special order, ie. not too many on the lots, if any.. and if they are not much of a discount..

2018 F150 and 1998 Nissan Patrol walk around video

Took three weeks off work to watch the kids on the summer break, made this video to keep myself entertained this morning, cross posted on Patrol4X4 forum. I figure you bunch might appreciate the Nissan Diesel more than another F150 walk around since its a bit different and not very common over here.
