My truck has been built and he waiting shipment from the Dearborn plant.....the ETA WAS Jan 4th-10 Going to Ca via rail then on to the dealer.

Not going to make the ETA as its still stilling somewhere waiting for rail...

Is this the way to goes ?Hurry up and wait.

BTW dealer seems to have no clue. The service level seems to stop after the order was placed.

The truck was ordered Oct 15th - Build date was Dec 18th ---which was accurate. So Jan 15th would be the 90 days. Dealer did offer to send a driver to the rail yard ( about 75 miles ) and drive the truck rather wait for a car carrier. Might take him up on the as long as I could go along, but need to get it on rail first.

OK, I don't think they will make Jan 15th date but it shouldn't be much longer...

I monitored my truck daily using the Ford COTUS website and if I remember correctly:
- Didn't see any activity thru COTUS until about Day 50 out (from final delivery)
- Truck production "magic" started around Day 45 out (VIN assigned)
- Truck was built within a week
- Truck was ready for shipping by Day 30 out
- Truck arrived 14 days earlier than original COTUS delivery date (See: https://www.dieself150forum.com/forum/15498-post23.html)

so based on my experience, you should take delivery of your truck T+45 after VIN is assigned.

Pending any natural disasters (See: https://www.dieself150forum.com/for...ing-orders/1622-hail-damage-what-do-next.html), you should hopefully be in your truck by the end of the month

Well it's a certain that the truck WILL NOT MAKE THE ETA......needs get to the west coast by tomorrow and from what I am told its still in Dearborn WAITING on rail.

It is a guessing game , I am very surprised that Ford can't accurately tell customers when a build will arrive at the dealers. Nailed the build date Dec 18th...

Standing by for who knows when

Maybe Ford is using the US government (delayed due to shutdown) for freight? :surprise:

Hang in there -- you will be rewarded soon enough...

Not the US Government...but the dealer did say Ford "fired" the rail carrier they had been using and have a new company handling transportation and that "things" were really backed up leaving the factory

New and updated ship date now Jan 17-23. I expected 90 days so if the new ETA is correct will hit the 90 days mark. Learning a lot about the dealer and how they communicate w/the end user. So far C- / D+

Have a good weekend all

Update 1/16/2019

I received a call from the deanship owner....He updated me on what he called a "real mess" at the rail yard, said its Ford-GM-Dodge all 3 are having shipping issues. Costing Ford since the flooring does not start until the dealership takes delivery. Miles and miles of a parking lot full of new vehicles waiting on rail. He said he's doing all he can , but this could go on for another 2-3 weeks.

That would make my order to delivery time 4 months ... 2 months to build and 2 months waiting on shipping

IMO not accepitable

@RLVoumard - hang in there, as you are now moving into the "act of god" territory.

Good to see you have move up to talking to the dealership owner directly now, as you'll probably get a more realistic idea of what is going on from him rather then dealing with someone lower in the food chain within the dealership.

You also don't have Mother Nature working on your side, as a good chunk of the country got hit by snow last week, and the Northeast is due for another round of two storms this week (I see single digit lows this weekend here in NY)

Sorry I can't offer anything more than words of encouragement at this point, besides that you should feel good that your truck has been built, and Ford (and their rail freight carrier) just need to get it to you (I spent SEVEN months waiting for a VIN to be assigned) Even with the shipping delay, you will get your truck in HALF the amount it took me to get mine.

I like your thinking " act of god " All I can do is find the patience and wait for the phone call. It was nice to get a call from the dealer/owner and that he is doing all that they can be done get the line moving.

Its hard when the time table is off by weeks, as I sold my F250 based on the ETA from Ford... The customer ultimately pays shipping - so if I had my way some one would be explaining to me what they can't do their job......

UPDATE... we are on rail and moving WEST...as of this morning in Chicago- WX delay ETA now Feb 18/24.......

I hope Ford has a talk w/their shipping company as this has been a real PITA.....The dealer has been keeping in touch- nothing they have been able to do. From what I have been able to tell... The holding yard does not have a FIRST IN-FIRST OUT policy.

OH WELL - saving on fuel and insurance.

Looking like Oct 15-18 - Feb 24,19 just shy of 5 months

@RLVoumard I would have them address any recalls before you drive it off the lot--especially the 18E02 EGR By-pass Valve replacement.

My truck just went from arrival 2/5 to 2/24. I guess there’s delays. Oh well, it will give me time to sock away so more down payment.

Sorry to hear that---but I know the drill-- Mine is ON RAIL , have been fighting weather delays since it left Dearborn...latest location as of this morning- Cheyenne , Wy - I would expect another weather delay as Reno is calling for blizzard like conditions next couple of days.

my first ETA Jan 3rd---- Just glad the shipping company does not run an airline.

Update Feb 6, 2019

The truck has made it from Dearborn to the rail yard in Benica,ca ( SF bay area ) I am being told that next step would be inspection when its off loaded , The dealer has offer to send a driver so we don't have to wait for truck transport - that should save some additional waiting.

Original Build Dec 18
Original ETA Jan 3rd
