UPDATE:
Thank you guys for the concerned raised here, I decided to do my due diligence before spending so much money especially after concerns raised here, I'd rather get a clean title one, anyways I already run the VIN Check on this car, yes this car was sold at auction for $3,700, and the damage seems to be serious, what do you guys think?

Hello everyone - Hope this is in the right place
Thanks for creating this awesome forum and meeting the wonderful people here. I am looking to get a 2008 ford f150 vehicle and I am looking to the community to check if there is anything I should be looking out for while doing my inspection.

They asking price is $15,000 and it has 450000 miles with a Salvage Title.
If you guys have any suggestions on what to check.
Looking forward to joining this family, thanks

@peter land = you are in the wrong place:
  • These forums are for owners of F150s powered by 3.0L V6 PowerStroke Diesel (PSD) engine
    • F150 PSDs were sold only from 2018 thru 2021
  • Don't be surprised if you don't get any responses regarding your purchase
  • You'll probably want to try some of the larger F150 forums for input

I sincerely hope the numbers you posted are off by 1 extra 0 each. And with a salvage title on top of that. Unless your claim of being a 2008 was meant to be 2018, $15,000 sounds very steep. Especially with a salvage title. Personally I wouldn’t even take it for free. Unless you know what exactly why it is a salvage vehicle. Could be a flood, crash, blown engine. Ect. 15 hundred dollars is more in line than 15 thousand dollars.

Check with your insurance company. Some will not insure salvage cars, or will only provide liability, not collision or comprehensive.
