If it is a good deal what does matter about the egr recall? I would make them certify it and fix the egr recall then you will have a good as new truck with a 100 thousand mile powertrain warranty
If it is a good deal what does matter about the egr recall? I would make them certify it and fix the egr recall then you will have a good as new truck with a 100 thousand mile powertrain warrantyI have an opportunity to purchase a new 2018 3.0 demonstrator with under 1000 miles, great price and color/seating I want. However, concerned over the new EGR replacement, it has not been done yet. I realize it is a warranty fix, but I hate the thought of disassembling a new truck to repair the problem. Am I over-stressing the situation? I have longed for the 150 diesel for a long time, but my fears of first year "bugs" have started to appear with the EGR issue...
Very nice numbers. These trucks are amazing on the highway. I live in more of a city area so I average about 60% city and 40% highway. Last calculated mpg was 21. I add in some Motorcraft cetane booster with every fill up.My mileage is also starting to climb. Just filled up and hand calculated at 21.73MPG with 3.55 gears, long bed, trailer tow mirrors--and I was running 4A a bunch on that tank for winter driving road conditions along with Snow/Wet Drive Mode. That was my second best MPG calculation in the first 4,700 miles now. My best so far has been 23.29MPG, but that was only a partial fill of 10.524 gallons and 245.1 miles so likely did not have a DPF regen cycle in that partial tank fill. This recent tank 21.73MPG was also achieved with straight up #2--not a winter diesel blend which I am starting to avoid because that I know has been taking down my MPG's. I have been adding Power Service white additive for anti gel and cetane boost, so with that, feel like winter diesel is unnecessary unless during a Polar Vortex.
In fact, this recent tank I had an entire 30 minutes averaging 30MPG as you will see in the attached photo below, so our trucks are still breaking in and definitely capable of attaining some nice fuel economy.

Also, I noticed that you actually have the oil temperature number on your readout. Did you have to turn that on? Mine just had the digital gauge without the number.
