Hello everyone!

Picked up a new 18' Platinum F150 FX4 Diesel in white. Absolutely love this truck and don't miss my 16' 3.5.

Looking to make some mods on my first diesel truck and need some input!

1) CAI and filter back exhaust install, does it require a tune? Any serious changes to MPG?

2) 2" leveling kit, does this mod cause faster wear on front suspension components like CV joints?

3) Anyone install slightly bigger tires? What noticeable effect did it have on your MPG?? Considering ever so slightly bigger tires with more agressive pattern.

4) Fumoto quick drain plug for the oil pan, anyone find a working one that's compatible?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums from Maine and from a Ram Ecodiesel guy. My 2 cents, save your money on CAI and exhaust, until you can delete EGR, DEF and maybe even SCR system. I'd bet when GDE comes out with their tuning for the Powerstroke 3L's there will be a bunch of happy campers.

I have S&B intake, no noticeable change to MPG. But turbo whistle is alot louder.

2" leveling kit is fine for these trucks, remember they are NO different from other F150 models, so anything that works on a gasser works on these pretty much. I have ICON coils, but next time ill just do Bilstein shocks and a AutoSpring.

Yes bigger tires do effect MPG, but not as much as a gasser. Look at my sig for truck specs.

There is a thread on Fumoto. I had it on previous trucks that I would change my own oil on. Now I know the local boys at car wash lube and they take care of this one for me as I watch. Guy said this one is really nice and really easy to change. I think its like a 1/2" drive to get plug out. https://www.dieself150forum.com/forum/490-3-0l-v6-diesel/1926-engine-oil-drain-plug.html#post18712
