New to the group, looking to do some mods to my daily driver. Upgrading the B&O system with some more bass soon. Hard Tonneau cover soon. Trying to figure out Forscan but it may be the death of me. I bought the ELM327 with the HS/MS switch. Downloaded software and license to laptop and every time I plug it in to start it says adapter not found. I have tried updating the driver, flipping the switch, dowloading all the driver patches on Forscan still nothing. It is driving me nuts!! I find it hard to believe the brand new ELM327 is bad because the red lights come on when plugged in, but maybe it is. I even tried to use it with an Iphone and Ipad and it said the same thing. I got fooled when I bought it because I saw an American Flag on the packaging but it was engineered in the US and made in China!!
I am also looking for a tuner. I just want to add a little more pep to the motor and get a little more fuel mileage if possible but I am not wanting to spend over $500 which may not be realistic. Any ideas let me know.

This Forscan adapter communicates with all the modules in my truck, and has no CAN BUS switch to be concerned with. I've used this adapter on three different F150's without issues.

I put together this comprehensive thread on FORScan which includes H/W recommendations:

Like @STIAJW I have had no issues with either cable or Bluetooth versions of the OBDLink products...
