So my 3000 mile truck took a massive rock and needs a new windshield it struck the passenger side corner and cracked about 6 inches. My raptor took some hard hits as well but never cracked makes me wonder if ford is using different glass now.

I also took the truck offroad today and the fx4 package performs flawlessly actually like it a little better than the raptor but the glass is a weakness

What trim line do you have? If you are King Ranch or Platinum your windshield will have heating elements in it for keeping the snow and ice off the wiper blades. So, if you have that, I would try to get an OEM windshield replacement instead of generic glass from an auto glass repair shop that may not have the windshield wiper de-icer heating elements embedded in the glass.

Well, I just looked in the 2018 F150 Owners Manual, and does the Lariat have this too?

From Owners Manual: "When you switch the heated rear window on, the windshield wiper de-icer turns on."

The one thing that has bothered me about windshields....started about 10 years ago where a lot of OEM's took out the blue gradient shade at the top of the glass. Why???....did the Sun just magically get dimmer this past decade so we dont need that extra glare protection, or was it just to save money.

Either way, this is a massive negative in my book. I know that FY Glass makes a shaded windshield that looks great, but I dont know if there is a shaded one for the extra stuff in the glass, like lane assist, auto wipers etc. At some point, this truck will need a windshield, and I would try my best to get the shaded one installed. I have actually seen them in person, but my local glass shop cant find that brand. Its Fuyao, and the shaded windshield that I snapped a picture of had a part number of DW 2153 or DW02153. But that one did not have sensors in it, basic XLT 2018 truck.

Anybody know a brand/make and part number for the tinted and shaded band for the 2019 platinum?

Get the Ford oem glass. I had a glass company replace the windshield in my 2005 Ram with "made in china" glass. Big mistake. Driver's side was ok, but passenger's side had a flaw. If you rode in the passenger side, you would freak out.

It was replaced with factory oem glass and it was 350 installed fairly inexpensive for factory glass
