I feel dumb having to ask this but where is the oil filter on these 3.0L diesels? I removed the covers under the truck but can't locate it. I know it is not a cartridge type but can't find a housing underneath.
I just took a quick look at mine, there is a spot under the top engine cover that looks like it could be it. But I know there is supposed to be a 2nd fuel filter in that area as well, the manual doesn't really point it out.
Did an oil change today and that filter location is fantastic. Super easy. Only pain is removing rear guard below engine. Need an 8 mm and 11 mm socket
Impact made it quick. Not a big deal but an opening at the drain plug would make it easier.
Also, need a 1 1/4 socket for cartridge removal. I am sure it is metric but 1 1/4 fits perfect. Only took 45 min and that was first time. Will be easier next time.
