Most owners- myself included- who use the PPE pan for the ZF transmission do so to prevent having to spend $300+ replacing the filter/pan combination when servicing the transmission (every 75k miles, according to ZF). That being said, more fluid capacity and cooling capability for a transmission isn't a bad thing.IMHO, unless you are towing maximum weight trailers in the mountains, your only benefit will be to look at it when it's on a lift. It will look pretty. Lot of Ram guys use the beautiful PPEI finned aluminum pans on the ZF 8 speeds. I would trust the Ford engineers, unless you see very high trans fluid temps. Think of the beer you could buy with the money, haha.
