I see Rough Country has some "affordable " Coilovers

They are $999 for a pair and can be had in 2" and 5.5"-6" models.

I decided to order a set.

We took our truck for a drive to lake about 2 hours away.

Lots of broken pavement...expansion joints that heaved.

Honestly I don't think any any truck would ride smooth but sometimes the truck was pretty "snaky".

Maybe ride will improve with more kms to soften factory springs, but to me it's almost appears Ford set up rear suspension to haul 1000 lbs in box daily or to be towing with some toungue weight?

So I got Vertex installed.

So far so good.

Set on "2" really smoothed out the truck on wasboard or potholes.

Also this was impressive because I went from 6 ply C tires to 10 ply E tires and ride quality is improved.

I went 285/75-18 DuraTracs.

Noticed a little mpg loss max maybe 2 mpg.

But if driven nice and in ECO mode seems to maintain close to same fuel economy as before.

I think this is because the engine has extra torque available at lower RPM when compared to gas.

I am running 3.55 E locker.

Thought I might have to change to 4.11 BUT so far so good.

The tires are just shy of 35" tall and 11.25 wide.

Setting the Vertex at 1.75 capacity of the adjustment threads created 4" of lift on front end.

Suspension has alot of travel.

3 year warranty on the Vertex.

I hope they hold up....
