My last Ford Diesel was a 2005-- so I'm new to the ReGen /Exhaust Filter procedure. I have 450 miles so I would not expect to see a region yet ? Hopefully my driving habits will not cause any issues with the auto process.

Is there any way to know when I am approaching a ReGen ? From what I am reading in the owners manual - I will get a message in the information center when the truck has begun a cleaning mode .

Thanks in advance

I enabled the DPF status in forscan and that makes it easy to see when the DPF hits 100%, shortly after that regen begins and the % number begins to decrease slowly. This occurs if you drive over 30 mph for a while.

Here is the forscan change you have to make:

So with "stock" trucks its a guess as to when regen is happening ? Can the dealer enable the DPF status ?

Yes dealer can enable, but most dont know how. Easiest is Forscan. The Fleet trucks have it enabled, personal vehicles do not.

The DEFS Gauge and % should be a MUST HAVE IMO---

now

In my case I do not have a windows laptop ( MacBook ) and buying Windows / Parallels / Forscan - to get the 3-4 changes would be necessary. If i call my dealer what would I be asking for ? Worth a try....

Good luck with the dealer. I made just one simple request before delivery, please disable the double honk when you step away. Shop sent word that it cannot be disabled. I use a mac which is not forscan friendly so I just borrowed a laptop and got it done. Once you make the needed changes you may find you never have to do anything else.

Also the dealer may not want to bother with bambi mode or folding mirrors. I just like DIY.

@RLVoumard I have MacBook Pro with Parallels and Windows 10, and can tell you that I have FORScan working fine in that combination in case you ever were inspired to venture down this path.

Thank you - I sure like the feature that FORscan "unlocks" Just not sure if I am confidant enough to do brain surgery on my new truck !!

Just asked my dealer if he could re program my gauge cluster to include a DFP gauge - I guess I was speaking a foreign language , after 10 minutes on hold - I was told , never heard of such a gauge and we have no way of creating one ???????

Bambi mode allows the factory fog lights to remain "on" when you switch to high beam. Usually they will turn off on high beams.

Folding mirrors means the mirrors fold in against the body when you hit the lock button. They unfold when you get back in and start the truck.

There are also several daytime running light options you can choose from in forscan.

For now I'm running without DPF % gauge - Reading the owners manual - I am a bit confused on the OWNER COMMANDED REGEN. Is this available on our trucks ? Owners manual says IF EQUIPPED...............

I believe only fleet trucks get to do owner commanded.
