I was looking through an S&B booklet the other day. They do have them for the 3.0 PS. I’ve never tried a CAI before. I’ve read they are not worth it for what you pay on stock machines. Might sound louder and definitely would look sharp under the hood.
Yes I also know CAI are for looks and noise only unless you are running big HP numbers. For $299 if it makes my F150 sound like a 6.0 turbo going down the road I may get one. On the other hand I may not, just talking out loud right now.
I get it and feel the same. I’m into a bit more intake noise for sure. Here in the great white north the kit is pushing the $600 mark. First comes the Undercover tonneau cover.
I am leaving the stock unit, air flows in nicely and unrestricted. Where I live, I need all the protection the factory pleated filter can offer as fine powder dust is my enemy.
I got this S&B intake and will post some pics soon. It is very high quality and looks nice. I noticed a little more intake howl and possibly a little louder turbo noise, but not much. It breathes a little better with a slight increase in throttle response at higher rpms. I feel its worth the 299 delivered price. Most impressed with the fitment of the air box and the quality feel of the parts.
