Severe Duty air filter?

The Ford Severe Duty option blue spiral wound air filter system I have in my old 7.3 is what every filter should be. After the dust storm yesterday, it ripped my roof off and turned over a semi truck 1 mile north of me on the highway, I would like the best filtration I can get.:surprise:

Yes, north of me 20 miles had a tornado yesterday and 40 miles south had tornado too.. I was in Lubbock and sand was so bad it was dark mid-day. I would love an upgrade on my 3.0 air filter. Took the old 7.3 since I knew it's air cleaner has a capable Donaldson/Ford filtration system used in Iraq.

Donaldson is good stuff I use it on my Cummins GenSet. I am sure we will get more and more choices as these motors are out longer.

I found that Donaldson makes a stock replacement filter (P622149) that is a little deeper, not as shallow. I will take a look at the airbox and if it has some more depth, I'll probably go Donaldson? I trust Donaldson, they make a lot of high quality filters and have been an OEM supplier to several manufacturers including both Ford and GM.

I just measured airbox, it has plenty of depth! Deeper the pleats, the better! I will go Donaldson and get the most out of it and hope someone makes a severe dust filter someday.

if that is the correct photo of actual filter, it looks 1/2" deeper than stock, which airbox will easily accommodate.

Yes airbox is huge! Same one as all the other gasser F150s looks like.
