So as of today, my truck is built and awaiting shipping. EST. Delivery of Feb. 7th. Is this accurate? It’s going New Jersey. How did the shipping part go for other prof this forum recently? Thanks
It's been an interesting experience and process. I farm for a living , so my truck is truly my office. I normally buy from dealers stock. The local Ford store(s) have plenty of white /4x4/crew cab trucks - so this is my first experience ORDERING , might be my last. My conversation with the dealer will be as you stated above -I believe that some consideration is in order. If you give an ETA to a customer , this should be IMO a reasonable and accurate date. revised it 3 times - People plan on this to Sell their current vehicle ( as I did back in Dec , when I had a Jan 3 eta ) organize financing- ETC. If the shoe were on the other foot and I promised to come and harvest your crop, gave you an ETA that I revised 3 times - what would happen.... Truth is and this is what bothers me the most---- The dealers seems to know that shipping was a mess, failed to tell me this when I ordered the truck. I was not a walk in customer - I had been working with the dealer on a new truck way back in April and timed the order for delivery of a 2019 ---- they knew what was going on ....@RLVoumard - it is possible that Ford (understanding their train freight dilemma) is using car/truck carriers over the roads for deliveries closer to Dearborn or Kansas City (East Coast, Midwest, etc.) even if this mode of shipping is not as economical. I would find it hard to believe that zero trucks have been delivered to dealers over the past couple of months.
I know this offers no consolation to you or your situation, but just providing a possible explanation as to how @RocknRescue might be getting his truck sooner than yours.
Hang it there and keep the appropriate pressure applied to your dealerships's GM/owner. I would think you should be able to leverage this into a price reduction or maybe free oil change services for your inconvenience, if your dealer truly wants to keep a happy owner. You can use @RocknRescue's delivery info to create that leverage if you don't think you have any... Ask the GM how @RocknRescue is getting his truck before yours when yours was ordered and built "n" days before yours.
Thank you - you might want to VERIFY with your dealer that the truck has left Dearborn--- double check the HAS BEEN SHIPPED and its not ( as in my case WAITING TO BE SHIPPED ) I have always had an ETA , buts it never been accurateTruck ordered on 11/29/2018
Finished production 1/19/2019
Dealer stated on his computer, he has arrival between 1/31 and 2/5.
