So I just got home from a trip to Michigan. On the way home in a snowstorm, my truck went into low turbo. Checked and my air cleaner was almost sucked in and my air box was full of snow. Any ideas? Am I missing something under the hood that would help alleviate this issue. I've been in weather like this before and never had this happen. Had it in the shop for another issue, wonder if the mechanic forgot to put a piece on.

I did that by accident once, I had removed the air box and when I reinstalled it I didn't put the push pins in on top of the radiator cover. The soft rubber lifted up and went in to the intake a few inches. It actually looked OK from above but when I went for a test drive the thing began to sound like a jet taking off and went low turbo. Once I pulled over and looked carefully I spotted it and fixed it, no problem after that.

I would carefully inspect the intake and airbox first, might be something got sucked into the lower part of the box. I am guessing if the filter was wet it would restrict flow as well. What does the little filter indicator show? It should show red (clogged) if that is the case.

My indicator only shows green and then red. Maybe different years?

The two pushpins in this photo are the ones I missed, the rubber folded up and blocked the entry, so I am sure snow can do the same. If the filter is wet I would probably change it out. Hope all is well with your truck today. If mine sees any snow I screwed up as I got rid of my snow shovel and don't plan to deal with white stuff again.
