I've towed boats and various trailers that have surge brakes. Always annoying as the surge actuator "thunks" as it slides back into tow position as you pull away after stopping. I've always wondered whether a cushioned hitch helps with this or if staying with a solid hitch is the way to go. Anyone using a cushioned hitch that might weigh in? Please include the type of cushioned hitch if you are happy with it.
