The latest on my lemon

Earlier this year i had a strange mechanical clunk/cracking sound when reversing with the wheels turned and the dealer said it was my suspension being lose and they happily charged me to tighten everything up. It didn’t help. So recently i took it in for what sounded like wheel bearings making noise at any speed and they said a vacuum line from the 4x4 was causing the hub to malfunction, which did in fact kill my wheel bearings. $1100 later (not covered under drivetrain warrany.) Picked it up from dealer and on the way home it lit up like a christmas tree and wouldn’t stop dinging at me that all sorts of functions were disabled. In addition to the “repair” it is still making that terrible noise from the driver front hub. Everytime i back out of my driveway or into a parking spot it sounds like something is breaking. I hate this truck 😥

It is the most expensive vehicle I ever bought, and has been the worst ownership experience of any (and I like old euros, so that is saying alot lol)

I think I'm going to jump ship and grab a 22 tundra. It could have problems 3 times a year and still be better than my f-150.

I had a wheel bearing go bad it was covered under the drivetrain I was under 60,000
Lariat or above trim level?
Well I made up my mind, Toyota offered me 50k for it so 2022 Tundra ordered. I'm really sad and annoyed at how the number 1 selling vehicle in the world could have so many problems and ford/dealers don't give a crap.

My dealer blamed it on the 4x4 system which wasn't covered

It's a fully loaded out king ranch
What year was your Truck vroom is picking up my xlt with 20k on it tomorrow for 45 grand

That's odd still part of the drivetrain. I would push the issue.
@RANDOMQUICKNESS If you don't mind, I would like to recap your long journey. You joined us in February of 2018 and ordered your new truck that same month making you a true pioneer on our F150 diesels. I was impressed with your choice, a Ruby Red King Ranch, opted as follows:

King Ranch, Ruby Red/Java SuperCrew 4x4 with 6.5' bed
601 equipment group
Chrome appearance package
Technology package
Adaptive cruise control with stop/go pre-collision warning
Trailer tow package
FX4 Off-road package
Stowable loading ramps
Spray in bed liner
3.55 electronic locking axle
Box side steps
Telescoping tow mirrors
Wheel well liners
All weather floor mats

You and I both opted not to get the sunroof and both of us got the beautiful Ruby Red. So far so good!

After that I don't recall any news until this, and you detailed the current issues very well. It is sad to see your dream truck become a burden but of course it happens. I wish you the very best and hope none of your issues were centered on the engine, as you would have had to endure both of the egr recalls. May you have a wonderful Christmas and please keep in touch. Thanks for this thread so we know what your experience was. Doug

This is correct, loved the truck when I got it but it was down hill from there. I can't remember all the issues but I'll try to fill in the last few years...

-multiple trips for recalls (I was expecting this with a new engine)
-oil leak (later identified as from the turbo)
-spent weeks/months at dealer to address and eventually the entire turbo was replaced
-picked it up from dealer and immediately started throwing emissions codes so it went back in (for weeks) something with a sensor I think
-started getting clunking from my front end as mentioned above, it was NOT the suspension needing to be tightened up (dealer still doesn't know what causes it)
-then the transmission slipped on me in heavy traffic, I was nearly rear ended as it just decided to rev up as if in neutral right in the middle off accelerating so the truck just fell on it's face (dealer checked fluids and said there is nothing wrong with trans)
-that leads us to the most recent issues which prompted this thread.

All of this doesn't even include the ridiculous hard shifts from when the truck has no idea what gear it wants to select or the stupid lug nuts that Ford wants to pretend aren't a problem.

I'm taking it back to the dealer when I get off today. My only hope is they can fix it enough to make it to the toyota dealership without throwing any codes or lights that will prevent them from giving me our agreed trade in value.

I have zero trust in the truck or Ford's ability to service it. This really is sad and humiliating for me because I assured my wife it would be reliable when trying to justify the price of it. She is so fed up with it that she went from giving me permission to trade it in to TELLING me to get rid of it. She is scared to drive it after it disabled all the safety stuff while she was driving and oddly the power steering quit working at that time.
