@Chrispy - you're right in that their isn't a single definitive post or forum that answers your questions.
@Dunrollin has posted a few DIY video links from FordTechMakuloco for the non-diesel related interval changes:
and there are numerous threads on these topics w/recommendations but no DIY videos:
My first recommendation (based on @RLVoumard and @Reinharm's recent experiences) would be a DIY video on the correct oil filter change procedure (from the Ford Shop manual that @Kval posted) to combat all of the incorrect YouTube videos out there and something we can send to Ford Oil Change technicians! I'd love to see a DIY YouTube video with the following:
Maybe you and @Dunrollin could collaborate on something?

@Dunrollin has posted a few DIY video links from FordTechMakuloco for the non-diesel related interval changes:
and there are numerous threads on these topics w/recommendations but no DIY videos:
- Diesel oil and oil change intervals
- Diesel Fuel filters and fuel filter change intervals
- Transmission fluid and change intervals
My first recommendation (based on @RLVoumard and @Reinharm's recent experiences) would be a DIY video on the correct oil filter change procedure (from the Ford Shop manual that @Kval posted) to combat all of the incorrect YouTube videos out there and something we can send to Ford Oil Change technicians! I'd love to see a DIY YouTube video with the following:
- Zoom of bottom of oil filter assembly showing rubber stopper and the "nub"
- Proper procedure (New filter installed on shaft/post and not clicked into the cup)
- Show how filter will not spin after installed on shaft/post
- Explanation of what happens to the nub when you click in into the cup first
- Possible symptoms (Low Oil Pressure warnings)
- Estimated cost to repair if nub sheared off due to improper procedure
Maybe you and @Dunrollin could collaborate on something?
