Waiting to hear from my dealer (hour and half away) with final details on picking up a steeply discounted 2018 King Ranch Diesel. But you are going to believe what happened, this was all to take place on Monday. I was just getting into my trade (big story there) to leave and my cell phone rings “Can’t sell you the truck today, a stop sale order for EGR recall”. For a truck that they have had for over a year! Good start. So that is when I found this great site and the wealth of knowledge. Thanks all.

Welcome! Hope everything goes well. As you may have already read most egr recall problems are just some sloppy work at the dealer level, at least with yours they have a sale hanging in the balance and will take care.

Welcome aboard Ray!

If you haven't see this thread yet, please read up on the FSA 18E02 - EGR By-pass valve replacement thread and what to look out for -- really not a huge deal, but the dealer cannot sell the truck until they perform the FSA...

Starting to see more posts regarding "deeply discounted" 2018 models, so I would not hesitate to sign the paperwork and grab-the-money-and run, as the F150 PS Diesels are a solid truck that most owners here are very happy with.

A day late (dealer) but we are back home. So I have to tell you how this all happened. I purchased a 2019 Ram Limited last July but the smell of fresh paint went to my head and I didn't do my due diligence. Turned out that the Ram tow mirrors are not power folding, something the dealers also don't know and have a sales lot full of them, and I also didn't know until I had to get out and fold them to get into my garage. That gets tired real quick. Turns out that many buyers got caught the same way, and the dealers and FCA response is tough crap, you should have paid more attention. Yes, I should have, but some sort of customer satisfaction would have helped. So I voted with my money!

I was very apprehensive about the diesel but you are right, it's quiet and drives like a gas engine and I think I like it a lot.

I also find it strange that dealers wait until they have someone on the hook before doing the recalls. Have an eagle eye on all the coolant piping around the driver's side when they get done, none of mine had bracket bolts! Please see the EGR thread on more things to look for. I am waiting on one last fuel line bracket that the dealer threw away, installing it myself, then my baby be back to new condition! I love the truck, you will too!
