Basically what the title says. Is there a set date for when the Diesel F150 will go on sale or when it'll appear at an auto show? They say 2017 model year, does that mean reveal this year or next year?

The Diesel F150 is expected to go on sale in the first or second quarter of 2017 so we could see an unveiling near fall or the end of this year.

Since you said the plant retooling is occurring earlier than expected, do you think the sale date will be moved up too?

Doubt the sale date will be moved up to the end of this year. We'll still have to wait until 2017.

What we have to do is keep waiting, at least till when the 3rd quarter of the year kicks in, that's when we'll be having definite answers coming right from the source.

Just make sure to keep in contact with your local dealer just as another source of information since you never know when they'll find something out compared to what's online.

That's a good idea.. I have one 5 minutes away from my house, I'll definitely take a trip over there and poke around asking questions

We'll probably see an unveiled diesel f150 at a motor show in the third quarter of this year and then the build page should open up before it goes on sale next year.

We've actually been seeing quite a few spy shots of it in the real world now so I think you're onto something. Third quarter should be approximately the time we can see this out and about being shown off

If the F-150 diesel really does debut late 2016, that would make it a 2017 model instead of a 2018 one but, that would put its debut before the diesel F-series truck's mid cycle refresh.

Yes, at this point that's how it works, I think once June rolls around, then anything that happens after that is a 2017 year model vehicle. Even if it launches just before June it still could be a 2017 model.

Too bad we don't have anyone here that works at the facility.

I'm pretty sure factory employees have to sign a contract so they won't leak anything before the company is ready to announce it.

They do but you sometimes get those guys that let information out but do it in a way they can't be tracked and mentioning those points on social media and getting away with it is easy enough.

Really have no idea, these things keep changing. Traditionally, a lot of thje new models will be "officially" introduced Oct. 1 of the preceding calendar year.

You have to consider tooling, some car/truck makers do their switch over now; shutting down current production and preparing for next years. But of course in this case its Ford we're talking about, so I'd say give it another month or two.

Maybe we'll see the fully uncovered diesel f150 at the L.A. Auto Show or the International Motor Show in Germany. Those are taking place later this year in September and November.

Seems like adequate time ? I'm sure they'll have a production model finished by then to take to the shows and bring some attention
