FSA 18E02: EGR By-pass valve replacement

I am getting paranoid now. My truck has 14K on it and was in the shop a month ago and they supposedly ordered the EGR parts. Checked in last week and they still were not in. WTF is the deal? I am supposed to go on a road trip Thursday and I don't want to drive it...

Would like to avoid a motor swap. Everything is running as it should.

Well it went in today for surgery. The christmas tree was not lit up and the truck was running perfectly normal so it should be a swap in/out and done. I have asked to see the bad part after to verify there is no missing screws. My dealership kinda sucks so we'll see how it goes...

I feel so bad for those that have to have their trucks ripped apart. I hope you guys get it back good as new and no more issues will be had.

I am only 41 and buy a truck every 3-5 years so if they dick around with this one it will be my last ford ever(I am on number 3) and I will send pics of my new 75+k trucks every time I buy one lol!

Why the last Ford?
Why would I keep buying a brand that keeps having issues? This is not my first problem with this truck. Its had door noise and sunroof noises and issues. They had to replace the glass in it and if I hadn't fixed it would still be noisy. 75K for what? Noises that drive me nuts, and a truck that has had multiple recalls already. First production diesel recalls I get, there are going to be some bumps in the road.

And to boot the dealer has been terrible, kept it for 2 days for an oil change. Said they couldn't hear the noises which was bs. I had to basically find the EGR parts for it since they said they were back ordered and they actually had everything IN STOCK, just not in the package for the recall. I found this out after asking a parts person when they would be off back order and she informed me they had all necessary parts to do the recall. Why couldn't the service guy ask the same question after I asked him? I feel like they didn't even try, didn't even put the recall parts on order. So I drove a grande with the pin pulled for a month and a half wondering if/when I would have engine issues.

Then after that he wanted it that minute for the to do the recall I said sure I can drop it off that night, he offered to come and get it, even better. This was a Wednesday, I said I would be out of town till Monday so they had lots of time to do the work. So it was set they would come pick it up Thursday. Guess what? Never came..... So I call and offer to drop it off again and get "I am so sorry sir, totally my fault". At that point I should have taken it somewhere else, but I guess I like punishment so it went there yesterday and its done. Everything back where its supposed to be.

Its not just the truck its the treatment buy the dealer that is making me not want another one. If this is it and I have no more issues great I might buy another one depending on the life of this one, but I am put off now.
