I just had one of my led fog lights burn out. Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket fog lights? Or should I just order an OEM replacement.

I run the Diode Dynamics SS3 driving lights in the stock fog lamp pods. I don't have much use for fog lights as we rarely have fog where I live. As such, I cannot speak to the efficacy of replacement fog lights. The driving lights, however, are a big improvement over stock fog lights if you are looking for auxiliary lighting. I dim them when there is oncoming traffic, but a few times I was caught by surprise or flat-out forgot to dim them and have yet to be flashed by oncoming traffic.

One big negative for the DD SS3 is if you use FM radio. I get really bad radio interference when the lights are on.

Are they in the factory housing or mounted elsewhere?

I lost one of mine last week. Decided to go the cheap route with amazon junk link. I have been pleasantly surprised to find they are least as bright as the factory LED's, probably moreso, and a significantly better beam pattern. If they last it will be a very well spent $60.

It’s the whole light. Not a bulb. Direct replacements. Mine are actually projector housings. Factory lights are an led in a refractor housing. Much, much better beam pattern in the new ones.

The only “hiccup” with the aftermarket lights is that one of them was wired backwards. So I had to flip the plug. As a result it doesn’t use the locking feature on the factory harness. But it’s a pretty snug fit, so I don’t see it being an issue. Also the replacement lights have a wiring pigtail. So it’s easier to tuck the plugs up out of harms way.

Did the link in my last post not work? It’s working for me.

True. Aftermarket assemblies for ‘21 are much more expensive. Look like more of a pita to replace, too.
