Got the call last night from dealer that truck is fixed and ready to go! Said once they removed egr valve and bench tested it the solenoid was not responding getting truck back today hopefully this is the end of this!

On another note that is not related to this site but still I find it funny
My 2014 Ford F250 regular cab diesel plow truck has thrown its first check engine light at 60,000 miles brought it to the dealer to get checked and sure enough EGR below threshold lol
No warranty left on that truck so I ordered a bully dog programmer and DPF delete pipe I will delete all emissions on it as I will be keeping the truck and more than likely be driving it into the ground

Any update?
Sorry been busy with work lately and not on line much
Truck is back at dealer that replaced turbo (2hrs away) been there since May 15th they have diagnosed that the EGR control valve is not working properly. The exact same parts that were involved in the recall all parts are ordered but a few of them are back ordered for at least another two weeks. Ford of Canada customer service third level as they call it is not giving me any help whatsoever it’s actually very embarrassing I find. If it wasn’t for my selling dealer I would be the one responsible for getting the truck back-and-forth to this other dealer two hours away it’s unfortunate that my selling dealer does not have a diesel tech but at least they’re helping me with transportation. We only have a private car rental company in our small town and Fort of Canada will not pay his daily rates for a rental truck so my selling dealer has lent us a fairly new used truck which is great. I have been talking with CAMVAP ( Canadian motor vehicle arbitration plan) about doing a buyback I am going to give this one last chance to make it right if it still acts up when it returns I will be going through the process

I have the same code, p2457. Popped up last week. Then the turbo began over boosting, code p0234 while I was waiting for my appointment. Turbo was quite a bit louder then normal and would have a fluttering sound when letting off the gas. Fluttering almost sounded like a waste gate but I know this truck does not have one. Still waiting for the dealer to call. 3 days in the shop.
They just changed my turbo for over boost same code p0234 motor knocking I have a video of it I can send you
Waited 4 weeks for them to replace turbo (no use of truck) and before all of this it all started with code p2457 egr
Looks like I’m back to square one!

Dealer pulled code P2457 egr cooler below threshold
This is the exact same code I was getting before they replaced the turbo I asked the tech to see if he could pull up all the codes since day one I have them on my phone now it’s over four pages long
I called Ford customer service Canada again my case is being escalated to the next level of Manager
This is now at the third level whatever that means LOL

Update
My selling dealer drove the 2hr drive to the dealer that replaced the turbo to pick up truck yesterday I picked up truck last night made it home everything ran great.
Then this morning on the 15 min ride to work check engine light on again.
I’m at wits end with this truck back to the dealership I go
I have owned every single Ford diesel since the 6.9 L this is by far the worst experience I have ever had I just want out of this nightmare
I still believe that I have a lemon and would probably get the exact same truck if Ford would just take this one back

After waiting close to 4 weeks for a parts to come in the dealer finally received all parts and replaced turbo. It took over two days to complete the job got the call yesterday that even to their surprise everything seems to be working normal. No more knocking, compression is equal in all cylinders and driveability is good they put on over 50 km yesterday and just wanted to do a coldstart this morning to make sure everything was still OK and I get truck back this afternoon fingers crossed that this is all that is wrong.

You did, I think these are great engines, just need to get thru EGR mess. Ive had multiple 3.5 and 5.0 crap out for no reason, so nothing is immune.

I believe another member got a buy back. I would pursue that. There is no reason you should spend 60k+, then for it to blow up and sit at a dealer for weeks, only for them to rip it apart at a dealer and try to repair. IMO you should get a new truck, take these back to Dearborn and figure out what went wrong.
Yes I do believe it will be a great engine as well the time the truck was working good I did 2 trips one empty 1200kms round trip and got 8L per 100kms that’s around 29 mpg the 2nd trip was loaded with around a 6000lbs trailer and 5 adults 5600kms and we got 15L per 100kms or 15mpg that is very impressive. I’ve owned every ford, some dodge and 1 gmc diesel still have a 2014 f 250 regular cab diesel as a Plow truck and a 2017 f 450 to tow my toy hauler. This 150 is are daily driver and just want a dependable truck in the end buy back or fix it would prefer the buy back because the truck is so new and with only 11,000kms most of that on my 2 trips. But would be ok with a fix of this one as long as Ford does something for me like maintenance plan or something along those lines. I’m not afraid of the dealer removing the the cab to replace motor my 2006 Gmc,2003 Ford 6.0 and my 2008 Ford have all had to have the cabs removed for repairs and no problems just hoping if ford does just want to repair my truck that they go with a long block and not try to repair this one on the bench!

Update on truck
Dealer has gotten back to me said compression is low on two cylinders and turbo is not producing any boost Ford service tech have said replace the turbo first we need to start with that. turbo is back ordered minimum of 2 to 3 weeks my service manager is not confident that this is the only problem and neither am I.
I put a call-in to Ford Canada customer service and my case has now been upgraded to a district manager to oversee it no talk of a buyback yet but I’m really hoping that that’s the route they go up in Canada we don’t have the same type of lemon laws as the states so each case is looked at individually if the turbo takes three weeks to come in that would be a total of 42 days that I have not had use of my truck that I purchased January 29, 2019
If they do offer a buyback I will get another 3.0 power stroke just think I got a bad one

Hey there was posting on another site trying to find answers and was directed to this site .
I have a 2018 F150 power stroke purchased January 30, 2019 it was involved in this recall as well they gave me the truck and let me drive it for three weeks knowing that the recall had to be done once they found out I was taking it on a long trip 5600 km round trip to Florida and back they said we must do the recall before you leave .
The truck ran fine all the way down and back but went through 15 gallons of Def towing a total load of approximately 6000 pounds I found that excessive and when I got back asked the dealer to check it they booked an appointment 4 days later
The day before the appointment I caught a check engine light that EGR is malfunctioning and diesel particulate filter was full the next day they checked it and said there’s nothing wrong and reset all coach didn’t make it 10 minutes and light came on again to days later engine started knocking it’s now waiting to be diagnosed.
I’m going to check this morning at the dealership and look at the old EGR if it’s still there and see if a screw is missing.
I do have a video of the knocking but I’m not very good with computers and don’t know how to download it if anyone wants to hear it you can PM me with your email address and I will send it to you
