My recall is not going well. Arrived for appointment at 7am Friday morning and heard nothing all day. I called the service advisor at 3:30 and he said they were nearly completed, he will call when it is ready.

I heard nothing so I stopped by Saturday morning, service manager said they took it apart Friday and Justin was reassembling it today (Saturday) but it would not be completed until Monday.

If I get my truck back they go on the long lists of Ford facilities I will always avoid.

My EGR valve job has gone from bad to worse. I had taken the truck in Fri morning and they promised it that day. I went in Saturday and was told the repair was completed but they were out there now reassembling the truck. Told me it would be Monday before I could pick it up. In this whole process not one time have they returned any calls in spite of repeated promises.

Got this email this morning:
Dear Doug,

We noticed that you missed your recent scheduled appointment with us.

To re-schedule your appointment at a more convenient time, please contact our service department at (855) 473-3193.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,
Rountree Moore Ford Service Department
I called three times and all I got were different stories, including one that the diesel tech was fired Friday. No one would tell me how the repair was going.

I went to the dealership and met with Service Advisor Danielle. My guy has been AWOL since Friday. I insisted on seeing my truck. She did take me to it where the repair had just started an hour or so before I arrived. Technician Justin was standing over it. He told me he had been given the job and would get right on it. I asked if the truck could be driven and he said no as he had already disconnected some parts.

I know, just one dealer and just one story but had I known this earlier there is no way. Wish I could turn the clock back. It is great to hear about others getting this done as promised. Hope no one else has any issues.

According to the shop report they remove the air box, empty coolant, disconnect coolant hoses, disconnect steering column, replace steering column bolt and re-torque it and replace EGR parts. Reassemble and fill coolant. Could be more but that was what he wrote.

Glad you got it done, good news. I think someone mentioned the new screws are welded in place. Hope so.

My mechanic was a little sloppy as well. Antifreeze had sprayed everywhere and I found a nut and bolt (7mm and about 1 1/2" long) up by the wipers. Hopefully it was from the old parts and the new parts had this already, LOL. Just happy to have it done.

My 2013 F150 XLT has been to a dealer shop just once, for a recall to reprogram the early sync system. That is the way I like it.

Wow! That got me to checking mine and the two "Christmas tree" wire harness attachments are just hanging there, I can't find where they go. There are also two brackets just hanging loose, one must be the fuel line bracket because the lines are attached to the loose bracket and they are just hanging loose.
I have no idea where the other bracket goes. So little room for my big hands in there and my efforts to take a photo failed badly.

Guess I will go over to the dealer again. Man, i hate that evil place.

I just got back from my 2nd visit to the dealer, hooking up the stuff they left hanging took all afternoon. Got it back at 4:45 pm and when I pulled out of the dealer's lot the AC wouldn't come on (88 degrees here today).

Went back and they got to work again. This time he said the FICM module was disconnected and when reconnected the shutters on the radiator failed to open thus disabling the AC so as to prevent overheating. (I gotta admit I am clueless about whether this actually occurred or not but who cares?) He said they reflashed the FICM and the AC began to work again.

Thanks for the photos, i will give it another good look over tomorrow.
